DPI Technologies, Inc. was founded in Niles, Michigan in March 2002 by the Agostino and Sgambelluri families. The business was created to fill a void in the market created by the departure of a long time equipment supplier.  DPI originallly imported woodworking equipment from Italy. The DPI stands for Distributore Prodotti Italiani (Distributor of Italian Products).  It later expanded into used equipment sales and reconditioning, importing from Taiwan and finally into designing and manufacturing its own machinery. DPI mainly focuses on finishing equipment for the wood, metal and plastics industries and does business as DPI Advanced Finishing Technologies.  DPI sells throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.  DPI has also sold into several European and Asian countries. Among its customers are several Fortune 500 companies and many leading woodworking companies.
